The postseason is in full force and the Norwalk Truckers enter their second round matchup against the Sandusky Blue Streaks projected to win by a score of 35-25. The playoffs are an interesting time of year as 7 teams fulfill their most ambitious goal in winning a state championship while the other 217 playoff teams will end their season with a loss. This matchup is no different as the winner will continue their playoff run while the loser will end its 2019 season with a loss. Sandusky comes in as Division 3's 31st-ranked team. Norwalk comes in ranked 15th. It's a chance for the Blue Streaks to get revenge as, in their regular season matchup, the Truckers won by a score of 37-20. We'll see if one team can take a 3-1 advantage over the last two years after two matchups last season were split, the Truckers coming away with the victory by a score of 52-35. However, in the game that mattered most, the Truckers came out on top 20-17.
Sandusky is currently on a 2-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Saturday. Coming off of a 20-14 win against the Buckeye Bucks, they are 8-3 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. In recent weeks, the Blue Streaks haven't been quite as successful producing points but they remain the 24th-ranked offense in Division 3, scoring an average of 32.6 points per game. Their defense ranks 53rd in their division allowing an average of 22.8 points per game, but they have shown improvement in recent weeks - in their last 2 games, they've given up an average of 14 points.
Norwalk will be looking to put together a win streak coming off of a 22-2 win over the Glenville Tarblooders last week, which brings their record to 9-2. In recent weeks, the Truckers haven't been quite as explosive on offense but they remain the 13th-ranked offense in Division 3, scoring an average of 35.3 points per game. Their defense allows an average of 16.3 points per game, which ranks 28th in their division.
