The Woodward Polar Bears and the Rogers Rams meet on Friday for what could be an important matchup - while both currently have less than a 50% chance of making the playoffs, every win counts at the end of the season. The Polar Bears are expected to finish 1-9, good for 18th in Region 10. The Rams are projected to finish 24th in Region 10 at 1-9. Rogers will be the favorite, projected to come out on top by a score of 32 - 23. Woodward hopes to mount an effort on Friday that will prove that they are, indeed, the better of the two. One of the more familiar matchups of week 8, both teams know what to expect. Woodward will hope to continue the recent trend, in which they've won 5 of the last 5 matchups. In 2017's matchup, the Polar Bears came away with a 40 - 6 victory.

Woodward hopes to build off of last week's 20 - 18 win against the Waite Indians and finish the season strong. The Polar Bears offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 20 points per game over their last 2 games, up from their season average of 11.4, which ranks 102nd in Division 3. They rank similarly on defense, coming in at 81st in their division, allowing 29.9 points per game. That number has generally gone up in recent weeks as they've given up an average of 15.33 points in their last 3 games.

Rogers comes into Friday looking to put a halt to their 7-game losing streak and build some momentum moving forward. Last week's loss came at the hands of the Bowsher Rebels, who beat the Rams by a score of 25 - 21. Particularly in recent weeks, the Rams offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 4 games, they've put up an average of 8.25 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 12.4, which ranks 98th in Division 3. Defensively, they'll look to show more signs of improvement after giving up 16.5 points on average in their last 2 games, improved from a On defense, they'll also be looking for improvement, which they have shown signs of in recent weeks. Over their last 2 games, they've allowed an average of 16.5 points, an improvement over their 88th-ranked 32.1 points allowed per game on the year.

Prediction: Rogers to win (65.33% chance of victory)
