As we reach the end of the season, teams that still have reasonable chances are jockeying for playoff positioning. For the home team in this matchup, the Fisher Catholic Irish, anything but a playoff bid would be a disappointment. They come into the week projected to finish 8th in the Region 27 playoff standings. For the visiting Troy Christian Eagles, it's a battle to stay in contention. They are currently expected to finish the season 5-5, which would put them around 15th in Region 24. The Eagles are the favorites on Friday, projected to win the game by a score of 28-23. Troy Christian comes in expecting to come away with the road victory. However, it looks to be one of the more hotly contested matchups of the week and Fisher Catholic will be looking to defend their home field and finish the game on top. The teams did not appear on each other's schedules last season, which presents a degree of unpredictability. Stylistically and schematically, past matchups are often used as a guiding tool. This week, however, each team will likely take time to adjust to an unfamiliar opponent, which should make for some added excitement.

Last week, Troy Christian dropped a game 70-0 against the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds. They'll look to get in the win column this week as they hope to finish out the season on a positive note. While the Eagles offense has not been particularly great, ranked 62nd in Division 6 with 23.1 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 32.8 points over their last 5 contests. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 63rd in the division, allowing 26.7 points per game.

After a 64-0 win against the Ridgedale Rockets brought their record to 7-2, Fisher Catholic will be looking to carry that momentum over and earn another victory. Scoring an average of 43 points per game on offense, the Irish rank 1st in Division 7. They've been even more dominant in recent weeks, scoring an average of 48 over their last 3 games. While recent games have affected averages negatively, their defense is one of the best as well. They rank 14th in their division, giving up an average of 14.1 points per game.

Prediction: Troy Christian to win (71.16% chance of victory)
