The Hubbard Eagles come into the regional finals projected to get a victory over the Girard Indians by a score of 38-20. However, anything can happen in the playoffs so you can throw mathematical predictions out the window. It's do or die for each team as always in the postseason. Regardless of the outcome, each team can take comfort in the fact that they had a successful enough season to get here, but only one team will be satisfied with the result as the other's season will end on a loss. The Eagles rank 7th in the division while the Indians rank 10th. It's a chance for the Indians to get revenge as, in their regular season matchup, the Eagles won by a score of 48-32. They also played last season, a matchup in which the Indians got the better of the Eagles, winning by a score of 39-28.

Hubbard comes into the game on a 2-game winning streak. After last week's 34-16 win against the Steubenville Big Red, they are 11-1 and look to continue the positive momentum. On offense, the Eagles have been one of the best in the state this season, ranking 17th with 43.7 points per game. Recent weeks haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 30.75 points per game but they remain one of the most explosive offenses statewide. While their defense has given up more points than usual in recent weeks, they deserve every bit as much of the credit for this season's successes as the offense. Over the course of the season, they've given up an average of 11.2 points per game, which ranks 6th in their division.

For Girard, Sunday is a chance to expand on a 10-game winning streak after their 42-33 win against the Perry Pirates brought their record to 11-1. The Indians have been extremely impressive on offense all season, scoring 46.1 points per game, which ranks 7th in the state. In recent weeks, they've cooled off a little, scoring 38 points per game in their last 2 games. While recent games have affected averages negatively, their defense is one of the best as well. They rank 17th in their division, giving up an average of 16 points per game.

Prediction: Hubbard to win (67.16% chance of victory)
