The season opener between the Western Brown Broncos and the Hillsboro Indians looks to be a relatively competitive matchup. The Broncos come into the game as 10-point favorites, but the Indians won't be concerned about that number when they take the field on Friday. This is an unpredictable matchup as the Broncos, projected favoritees, will have to defeat the Indians on their home field. Not only is it unpredictable from a standpoint of who will come out on top, but also whether it'll be a close game or a decisive victory for one of these teams. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Broncos have been superior, coming out on top in 3 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Indians proved superior, winning 30-28.

Western Brown comes off of a season in which they finished 4-6. They come into the 2019 season with a projected record of 6-4. In 2019, they'll be looking to improve on both sides of the ball. Last season, the Broncos offense ranked 43rd in Division 3 scoring an average of 27.5 points per game while their defense, allowing 32.8 points per game, ranked 32.8.

While Hillsboro made it to the Regional Quarterfinals in 2018, a repeat playoff appearance in 2019 will not be an easy task. The Indians come into the season with a projected record of 6-4 a year after finishing 9-2. After their season ended with a 34-14 loss to the Eastmoor Academy Warriors, improving upon last year's success starts with a win on Friday. An offensive team in 2018, the they scored an average of 40.5 points per game, which ranked 7th in Division 4. On defense, they gave up 21.6 points per game, which ranked 37th.

Prediction: Western Brown to win (79.94% chance of victory)
