Friday's matchup between the Edgewood Cougars and the Mount Healthy Owls takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Cougars and the Owls are projected to finish 24th and 12th in their respective regional playoff standings. Mount Healthy enters the week as a 18-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. The Owls will look to get the crowd involved in a home game they're expected to win. On the other hand, the Cougars hope to silence the crowd and come away with the road upset. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Cougars have been superior, coming out on top in 3 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Cougars proved superior, winning 33-0.

Edgewood has dropped each of their most recent 5 games and will look to reverse the negative momentum on Friday. They are currently 2-7 and come off of a 41-24 loss against the Little Miami Panthers. The Cougars offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 25 points per game over their last 2 games, up from their season average of 19.9, which ranks 67th in Division 2. On defense, they rank 56th in the division, giving up 25.1 points per game.

Mount Healthy looks to rebound after a 42-13 loss against the Harrison Wildcats last week, which brought their record to 4-5. While the Owls offense has not been particularly great, ranked 73rd in Division 3 with 21.8 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 33.5 points over their last 2 contests. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 68th in the division, allowing 25.7 points per game.

Prediction: Mount Healthy to win (94.14% chance of victory)
