The Marion Local Flyers enter the state semifinals against the Patrick Henry Patriots in a game they're projected to win by a score of 30-13. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. The Flyers, one of the top teams in Division 7, come into the game ranked 1st. The Patriots come in ranked 7th. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. In 2018, the Flyers defeated the Patriots by a score of 42-7.

Looking to build upon their 5-game winning streak, Marion Local comes into the week at 11-2. After their 27-0 win against the New Bremen Cardinals, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. In recent weeks, the Flyers haven't been quite as successful producing points but they remain the 15th-ranked offense in Division 7, scoring an average of 31.7 points per game. Nevertheless, the defense could actually be the true strength of the team, which they've shown in their most recent contests. Over the last 4 games, they've allowed only 6.75 points per game. However, success on defense isn't just a recent trend - on the season, their defense ranks 3rd in their division, allowing 9.8 points per game.

Patrick Henry is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 4-game winning streak, including last week's 27-13 win against the Leipsic Vikings. That brings their record to 10-3 as they look to add another notch to the win column. The Patriots offense is one of the most high-powered in their division, particularly in recent weeks. For the year, they rank 13th in Division 7 with 32.5 points per game. Over the last 2 weeks, they've scored an average of 32.5. Their defense ranks 28th in their division giving up an average of 19.8 points per game, but they've been improving with each game - over the last 2 weeks, they've allowed an average of 13.5 points.

Prediction: Marion Local to win (98.67% chance of victory)
