The Otsego Knights kick off the 2019 season as 4-point favorites over the Evergreen Vikings. Otsego coming into Friday with a 74.70% chance of victory, this looks to be one of the harder fought matchups of week 1. Fans on both sides head into Friday expecting the win but only one of the two can come out on top. One of the more familiar matchups of week 1, both teams know what to expect. Otsego will hope to continue the recent trend, in which they've won 3 of the last 5 matchups. In last year's installment, the Knights came out on top by a score of 37-21.

For Otsego, each game is an opportunity to develop and improve. Nobody expects a state championship run or even necessarily a playoff appearance from them so it's a season they'll likely be playing most of their games for pride. They enter the game with a projected regular season record of 5-5, projected to finish 17th in the region. An offensive team in 2018, the Knights scored 35.8 points per game, which ranked 17th in their division. On defense, they gave up 19.7 points per game, which ranked 31st.

Evergreen comes into the week without much of a chance of making the postseason. However, it is early and only time can tell. They are projected to finish the season with a 2-8 and hope to make Friday the first step toward exceeding that projection. In 2019, the Vikings will look to improve offensively and defensively. Last season, their offense ranked 60th in Division 6 scoring an average of 24.4 points per game while their defense, allowing 24.9 points per game, ranked 24.9

Prediction: Otsego to win (74.70% chance of victory)
