The Beachwood Bisons kick off the 2019 season with a tough matchup against the Orange Lions. The Lions will enter Friday as 5-point favorites, which means we can expect a close game. With two teams coming in expecting the win, we won't know for sure who's the better team until they take the field on Friday. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Lions have been superior, coming out on top in 5 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In last year's installment, the Lions came out on top by a score of 35-7.

Orange finished last season 7-4 after reaching the Regional Quarterfinals where they were defeated by the Memorial Rough Riders. This year, they hope to make another run at the playoffs but they'll likely need to outperform a projected record of 5-5 in order to make another playoff appearance. Statistically, they weren't a top team on offense or defense in 2018. Scoring an average of 31 points per game, they ranked 26th in Division 4 while they ranked 55th in the division on defense by allowing 24.2 points per game.

Beachwood hopes to make the most of the game on Friday despite being projected to finish 14th in the region's playoff standings. Projected to finish the season 6-4, they look to exceed expectations and defend their home field. Statistically, they weren't one of the best offenses or defenses in 2018. Scoring an average of 24.5 points per game, they ranked 52nd in Division 5 while they ranked 32nd in the division on defense by allowing 20 points per game.

Prediction: Orange to win (58.80% chance of victory)
