The Olentangy Braves and the Miamisburg Vikings head into a week 2 matchup on Friday looking for what will likely be a hardfought victory. While the Braves come in as 9-point favorites, the Vikings will look to prove that they are the truly superior team. Olentangy, the 97th-ranked team in the state, host a fellow top-100 team this week as Miamisburg comes into the game ranked 89th. The Vikings come into the game with little regard for pregame statistical breakdowns - while the Braves believe they are the superior team, the road team will not consider it an upset if they come away with the victory. Having matched up in 2018, there is a degree of familiarity between the two. Last year, the Vikings got the better of the Braves, winning by a score of 24-14.

The Vikings did not make the playoffs last season and are projected as a bubble team in 2019. Early in the season, they'll have every opportunity to improve their playoff odds. Projected to finish 9th in the region with a record of 6-4, they hope to establish momentum early and exceed those expectations. As 0-point underdogs against the Walnut Hills Eagles last week, the Vikings ended up with their first win of the season. They will need to improve on both sides of the ball as their offense ranked 28th and their defense ranked 35th for the opening week.

After their 23-13 loss against the Hilliard Darby Panthers in the season opener, the Braves are not in as formidable a position as last season. After making the postseason last year, they are projected to finish 9th in the region with a record of 5-5. However, it's early in the season and they'll look to build momentum and exceed those early season expectations. After their season-opening 23-13 loss against the Hilliard Darby Panthers, they'll definitely be looking to imrpove on both sides of the ball.

Prediction: Olentangy to win (68.21% chance of victory)
