Friday's matchup between the Swanton Bulldogs and the Bryan Golden Bears takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Bulldogs and the Golden Bears are projected to finish 25th and 16th in their respective regional playoff standings. Bryan enters the week as a 5-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. This looks to be a close and exciting game, which will be fun at least for the team that comes out on top. The teams have played each other in each of the last five years so neither is likely to surprise the other. Over their last 5 matchups, the Golden Bears have won 3, a trend they hope to continue. In 2018's matchup, the Golden Bears came away with a 41-0 victory.

Swanton comes off of a 42-7 loss against the Archbold Blue Streaks and will look to rebound this week as they hope to finish out the season strong. The Bulldogs offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 22.33 points per game over their last 3 games, up from their season average of 19.1, which ranks 82nd in Division 5. Defensively, giving up 30.4 points per game, they rank 80th in the division.

Bryan is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 2-game winning streak, including last week's 42-20 win against the Evergreen Vikings. That brings their record to 4-5 as they look to add another notch to the win column. While the Golden Bears offense has not been particularly great, ranked 50th in Division 4 with 26.3 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 38.5 points over their last 2 contests. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 43rd in the division, allowing 21.2 points per game.

Prediction: Bryan to win (95.99% chance of victory)
