Friday's matchup between the Celina Bulldogs and the Van Wert Cougars takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Bulldogs and the Cougars are projected to finish 19th and 18th in their respective regional playoff standings. Celina enters the week as a 3-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. A major challenge on the schedule for both teams, this looks to be one of the more competitive games of the week. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Bulldogs have been superior, coming out on top in 3 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In 2018's matchup, the Cougars came away with a 38-20 victory.

Celina comes into the game on a 4-game losing streak, which they hope to put to an end on Friday. Their 35-6 loss against the Memorial Rough Riders last week brings their record to 3-6. Particularly in recent weeks, the Bulldogs offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 2 games, they've put up an average of 3 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 20.7, which ranks 75th in Division 3. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 93rd in the division, allowing 31.4 points per game.

Van Wert is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 2-game winning streak, including last week's 42-21 win against the Bath Wildcats. That brings their record to 5-4 as they look to add another notch to the win column. The Cougars offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 49 points per game over their last 2 games, up from their season average of 30.2, which ranks 34th in Division 4. On defense, they rank 55th in the division, giving up 22.8 points per game.

Prediction: Celina to win (94.48% chance of victory)
