In a week 7 matchup with major playoff implications, the Solon Comets go on the road to face off against the Euclid Panthers. The Comets enter the game projected to finish 4th in Region 1 at 8-2. The Panthers come in projected to finish 7th in Region 1 at 7-3 The Comets come into the game as 3-point favorites and expect to take home the victory and ultimately complete their pursuit of the postseason. Friday's matchup will feature two of the state's top 100 teams. The Comets come into the game ranked 47th in the state while the Panthers come in ranked 26th. In this evenly-matched a game, there is no way to tell who will come out on top. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. In 2018, the Panthers defeated the Comets by a score of 21-0.


Solon will look to rebound this week after their Mentor Cardinals in their last game. They're a high-powered offense, scoring an average of 30.3 points per game, ranking 20th in Division 1. Their defense gives up an average of 30.2 points per game, which ranks 57th in the division.


Euclid will look to continue the momentum of their 6-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 21-14 win against the Strongsville Mustangs last week, bringing their record to 6-0. For the Panthers, offense is where they thrive. Thus far, they've averaged 43.3 points per game, which ranks 25th in the state. On defense, they give up 27.3 points per game, which ranks 449th.
