Friday's matchup between the Roosevelt Rough Riders and the Barberton Magics takes place between two teams that most likely will not make the playoffs. The Rough Riders come into the week projected to finish 14th in the Region 5 playoff standings. The Magics are projected to finish 10th in Region 6. Barberton comes in as a 6-point favorite as each team fights to close out the regular season strong. The Magics rank 95th in the state while the Rough Riders rank 342nd in the state and 64th in Division 2. Statistics and rankings aside, this one's completely up in the air and will likely go to whichever team plays at its highest level. Having matched up in 2018, there is a degree of familiarity between the two. Last season, the Magics beat the Rough Riders 48-7.

Roosevelt comes off of a 31-24 loss against the Garfield Heights Bulldogs and will look to rebound this week as they hope to finish out the season strong. While the Rough Riders haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 3 weeks, they've averaged 25.33, up from their season average of 20.6, which ranks 65th in Division 2. On defense, they rank 36th in the division, giving up 21.9 points per game.

After a 37-0 win against the Tallmadge Blue Devils brought their record to 6-3, Barberton will be looking to carry that momentum over and earn another victory. The Magics offense is the 18th-ranked offense in Division 2, scoring an average of 34.9 points per game over the course of the season. In their last 3 games, however, they haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 22.67 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 26.67 points per game over their last 3, down from their average of 17.9, which ranks 19th in their division on the season.

Prediction: Barberton to win (99.61% chance of victory)
