Friday's matchup between the Goshen Warriors and the New Richmond Lions takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Warriors and the Lions are projected to finish 13th and 13th in their respective regional playoff standings. New Richmond enters the week as a 19-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. The Lions will look to get the crowd involved in a home game they're expected to win. On the other hand, the Warriors hope to silence the crowd and come away with the road upset. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Lions have been superior, coming out on top in 5 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In 2018's matchup, the Lions came away with a 27-0 victory.

Looking to build upon their 3-game winning streak, Goshen comes into the week at 6-3. After their 48-0 win against the Batavia Bulldogs, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. The Warriors offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 41.5 points per game over their last 2 games, up from their season average of 29, which ranks 40th in Division 3. The defense hasn't been much better statistically, giving up an average of 14.3 points per game, which ranks 18th in their division.

New Richmond looks to rebound after a 45-16 loss against the Clinton-Massie Falcons last week, which brought their record to 5-4. While the Lions offense has not been particularly great, ranked 43rd in Division 3 with 28.8 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 36.8 points over their last 5 contests. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 53rd in the division, allowing 22.4 points per game.

Prediction: New Richmond to win (96.48% chance of victory)
