The Ayersville Pilots come into Friday projected to finish the season 1-9 at 23rd in Region 26. They host the Edgerton Bulldogs, who are currently expected to make the playoffs at 6th in Region 26. Edgerton have the edge on paper, entering the game as a 4-point favorite. However, the battle for a postseason bid can only be decided on the field. The Bulldogs rank 7th in Division 7 while the Pilots rank 48th in Division 7. Edgerton comes in expecting to come away with the road victory. However, it looks to be one of the more hotly contested matchups of the week and Ayersville will be looking to defend their home field and finish the game on top. The teams have played each other in each of the last five years so neither is likely to surprise the other. Over their last 5 matchups, the Pilots have won 3, a trend they hope to continue. In the most recent season's matchup, the Bulldogs proved superior, winning 58-0.

Edgerton is currently on a 2-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Friday. Coming off of a 62-25 win against the Wayne Trace Raiders, they are 7-2 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. Scoring an average of 38.8 points per game on offense, the Bulldogs rank 7th in Division 7. They've been even more explosive in recent weeks, scoring an average of 54 over their last 2 games. While recent games have affected averages negatively, their defense is one of the best as well. They rank 18th in their division, giving up an average of 16.7 points per game.

Ayersville will come into the week looking to put an end to their current 3-game losing streak after a 36-6 loss against the Edon Bombers brought their record down to 1-8. The Pilots offense hasn't been particularly great this season in terms of point production, a trend which continues into recent weeks. Over their last 2 games, they've scored an average of 3 points - this season they've averaged 13.7, which ranks 89th in Division 7. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 80th in the division, allowing 33.6 points per game.

Prediction: Edgerton to win (99.77% chance of victory)
