Usually in a state championship, there's no reliable notion going into the game concerning who truly is the best team in the division. For the Marion Local Flyers, however, they've proven time and time again throughout the season that they are indeed the best. The only obstacle in their path is the Lucas Cubs, who look to score a major update and come away as state champions. The Flyers are projected to win the game by a score of 41-7. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. Marion Local comes in as Division 7's 1st-ranked team. Lucas comes in ranked 9th. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Usually, matchups from the previous year are used in developing a strategy for upcoming games. For these two, no such opportunity will be afforded.

Looking to build upon their 6-game winning streak, Marion Local comes into the week at 12-2. After their 40-6 win against the Patrick Henry Patriots, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. Scoring an average of 32.3 points per game on offense, the Flyers rank 13th in Division 7. They've been even more explosive in recent weeks, scoring an average of 36.75 over their last 4 games. While their offense is solid, the defense deserves equal credit for the season's successes. Their 9.5 points allowed per game ranks 3rd in the division and continues to get better week by week - in their last 2 games, they've given up just 3 points per game.

Lucas will look to continue the momentum of their 4-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 15-12 win against the Harvest Prep Warriors last week, bringing their record to 12-2. In recent weeks, the Cubs haven't been quite as explosive on offense but they remain the 17th-ranked offense in Division 7, scoring an average of 30.5 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 16.5 points per game over their last 4, down from their average of 12.1, which ranks 4th in their division on the season.

Prediction: Marion Local to win (99.23% chance of victory)
