One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the second round comes between the Minster Wildcats and the Crestview Knights, the Wildcats projected to win by a score of 32-27. The playoffs are an interesting time of year as 7 teams fulfill their most ambitious goal in winning a state championship while the other 217 playoff teams will end their season with a loss. This matchup is no different as the winner will continue their playoff run while the loser will end its 2018 season with a loss. Minster comes in as Division 7's 1st-ranked team. Crestview comes in ranked 5th. Having matched up in 2017, there is a degree of familiarity between the two. Last season, the Wildcats beat the Knights 35-32.

Minster comes into the game on a 3-game winning streak. After last week's 51-6 win against the Riverside Pirates, they are 8-3 and look to continue the positive momentum. The Wildcats offense has been one of the best in the division, especially in recent weeks. For the year, they rank 21st in Division 7 with 31.5 points per game. Over the last 2 weeks, they've scored an average of 31.5. While their offense is solid, the defense deserves equal credit for the season's successes. Their 18.5 points allowed per game ranks 23rd in the division and continues to get better week by week - in their last 3 games, they've given up just 7 points per game.

Crestview will look to continue the momentum of their 6-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 51-30 win against the MVCA Lions last week, bringing their record to 10-1. Thus far, the Knights offense has averaged 44.7 points per game offensively, which ranks 16th in the state. In recent weeks, they've been even more powerful, scoring an average of 50.5 points per game over the last 2 weeks. Their defense gives up an average of 21.7 points per game, which ranks 37th in their division - in their last 3 games, they've improved, giving up an average of 12.67 points.

Prediction: Minster to win (56.62% chance of victory)
