As we reach the end of the season, teams that still have reasonable chances are jockeying for playoff positioning. For the home team in this matchup, the St. Edward Eagles, anything but a playoff bid would be a disappointment. They come into the week projected to finish 2nd in the Region 1 playoff standings. For the visiting St. Ignatius Wildcats, it's a battle to stay in contention. They are currently expected to finish the season 4-6, which would put them around 12th in Region 1. The Eagles are the favorites on Saturday, projected to win the game by a score of 30-16. The Wildcats head into Saturday ranked 28th in the state and will travel to take on a fellow top-100 team as the Eagles come in ranked 4th. For St. Ignatius, this is a chance to prove themselves legitimate by coming out on top against a solid opponent. For St. Edward, this week is simply about doing what's expected of them. The teams have played each other in each of the last five years so neither is likely to surprise the other. Over their last 5 matchups, the Wildcats have won 4, a trend they hope to continue. Saturday's a chance for both teams to settle the score after splitting the series in 2018. In their regular season matchup, the Wildcats came away with the victory by a score of 21-7. However, in the game that mattered most, the Eagles came out on top 21-19.

St. Ignatius hopes to build off of last week's 42-7 win against the Rockledge Raiders and finish the season strong. The strength of the team comes on the offensive side of the ball, where they rank 20th in Division 1 with 30.3 points per game. On defense, they rank 56th in the division, giving up 29.8 points per game.

St. Edward will look to continue the momentum of their 5-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 45-21 win against the Buchtel Griffins last week, bringing their record to 5-1. The Eagles come in as the 8th-ranked offense in Division 1, scoring 38 points per game. On defense, they rank 39th, giving up an average of 23.3.

Prediction: St. Edward to win (99.03% chance of victory)
