One of the most significant games on the schedule for week 7 is a matchup between the Brunswick Blue Devils and the Mentor Cardinals. Both teams have a solid likelihood of making the playoffs, the Blue Devils projected to finish 5th in Region 1 and the Cardinals projected to finish 1st in Region 1. The Cardinals are projected to take home the victory on Friday by a score of 35-17. Better on paper, the Cardinals come into the game ranked 5th in the state, hosting a Blue Devils team that comes in ranked 151st in the state and 41st in Division 1. The Cardinals will look to get the crowd involved in a home game they're expected to win. On the other hand, the Blue Devils hope to silence the crowd and come away with the road upset. The teams have played each other in each of the last five years so neither is likely to surprise the other. Over their last 5 matchups, the Cardinals have won 5, a trend they hope to continue. In the most recent season's matchup, the Cardinals proved superior, winning 35-0.

Brunswick comes into the game on a 2-game winning streak. After last week's 21-18 win against the Shaker Heights Raiders, they are 5-1 and look to continue the positive momentum. They've been proficient thus far on both sides of the ball. Their offense ranks 15th in Division 1, scoring an average of 32 points per game. Their defense, giving up just 12 points per game, ranks 8th in the division.

Mentor will look to continue the momentum of their 6-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 41-7 win against the Solon Comets last week, bringing their record to 6-0. The Cardinals are one of the best teams in Division 1 on both sides of the ball. Their offense, ranked 2nd in the division, scores 45.3 points per game. The Cardinals defense ranks 14th, giving up 14.7.

Prediction: Mentor to win (99.96% chance of victory)
