The Bexley Lions come into Friday projected to finish the season 4-6 at 23rd in Region 11. They host the Columbus Academy Vikings, who are currently expected to make the playoffs at 5th in Region 19. Bexley have the edge on paper, entering the game as a 5-point favorite. However, the battle for a postseason bid can only be decided on the field. This looks to be a close and exciting game, which will be fun at least for the team that comes out on top. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Lions have been superior, coming out on top in 3 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In last year's installment, the Vikings came out on top by a score of 38-6.

Looking to build upon their 4-game winning streak, Columbus Academy comes into the week at 6-3. After their 28-7 win against the Grandview Heights Bobcats, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. While the Vikings haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 3 weeks, they've averaged 40.67, up from their season average of 28.2, which ranks 49th in Division 5. On defense, they'll also be looking for improvement, which they have shown signs of in recent weeks. Over their last 3 games, they've allowed an average of 11.33 points, an improvement over their 60th-ranked season average of 24.2.

Bexley comes into Friday looking to put a halt to their 3-game losing streak and build some momentum moving forward. Last week's loss came at the hands of the Bishop Ready Silver Knights, who beat the Lions by a score of 35-14. Particularly in recent weeks, the Lions offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 2 games, they've put up an average of 7 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 13.7, which ranks 95th in Division 3. On defense, they rank 78th in the division, giving up 27.6 points per game.

Prediction: Bexley to win (88.58% chance of victory)
