The postseason has arrived and the New Bremen Cardinals enter their first round matchup against the New Miami Vikings projected to win by a score of 34-24. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. New Bremen comes in as Division 7's 27th-ranked team. New Miami comes in ranked 26th. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Stylistically and schematically, past matchups are often used as a guiding tool. This week, however, each team will likely take time to adjust to an unfamiliar opponent, which should make for some added excitement.

Last week, New Bremen dropped a game 42-2 against the Minster Wildcats. They'll look to get in the win column this week as they hope to finish out the season on a positive note. The Cardinals offense hasn't been particularly great this season in terms of point production, a trend which continues into recent weeks. Over their last 2 games, they've scored an average of 21.5 points - this season they've averaged 26.2, which ranks 41st in Division 7. Defensively, giving up 22.8 points per game, they rank 43rd in the division.

For New Miami, Sunday is a chance to expand on a 10-game winning streak after their 49-14 win against the Lockland Panthers brought their record to 10-0. The Vikings offense is one of the most high-powered in their division, particularly in recent weeks. For the year, they rank 4th in Division 7 with 39.8 points per game. Over the last 5 weeks, they've scored an average of 39.8. While their defense has given up more points than usual in recent weeks, they deserve every bit as much of the credit for this season's successes as the offense. Over the course of the season, they've given up an average of 10.8 points per game, which ranks 6th in their division.

Prediction: New Bremen to win (77.54% chance of victory)
