The postseason has arrived and the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats enter their first round matchup against the Groveport-Madison Cruisers projected to win by a score of 27-14. It's do or die for each team as always in the postseason. Regardless of the outcome, each team can take comfort in the fact that they had a successful enough season to get here, but only one team will be satisfied with the result as the other's season will end on a loss. Hilliard Davidson comes in as Division 1's 10th-ranked team. Groveport-Madison comes in ranked 37th. The teams did not appear on each other's schedules last season, which presents a degree of unpredictability. Strategically, this might lead to complications that could throw off the gameplan of either team.

Hilliard Davidson is currently on a 3-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Saturday. Coming off of a 31-13 win against the Westland Cougars, they are 7-3 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. While the Wildcats haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 2 weeks, they've averaged 27, up from their season average of 20.2, which ranks 50th in Division 1. While the defense hasn't been much better, they have improved lately - while they average 12.4 points allowed per game, which ranks 9th in their division, they've taken that average down to 10.2 points over the last 5 weeks.

Looking to rebound from a 35-7 loss against the New Albany Eagles last week, Groveport-Madison will try to establish momentum early and sustain it throughout. In recent weeks, the Cruisers haven't been quite as explosive on offense but they remain the 7th-ranked offense in Division 1, scoring an average of 35.5 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 17.5 points per game over their last 2, down from their average of 9.7, which ranks 2nd in their division on the season.

Prediction: Hilliard Davidson to win (91.32% chance of victory)
