The Nordonia Knights come into the opening round of the playoffs projected to get a victory over the Riverside Beavers by a score of 37-21. However, anything can happen in the playoffs so you can throw mathematical predictions out the window. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. Riverside comes in as Division 2's 43rd-ranked team. Nordonia comes in ranked 18th. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Strategically, this might lead to complications that could throw off the gameplan of either team.

Riverside is currently on a 3-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Friday. Coming off of a 14-6 win against the Mayfield Wildcats, they are 8-2 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. While the Beavers haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 3 weeks, they've averaged 40.33, up from their season average of 30.8, which ranks 38th in Division 2. They rank similarly on defense, coming in at 32nd in their division, allowing 19.1 points per game. That number has generally gone up in recent weeks as they've given up an average of 11.33 points in their last 3 games.

Nordonia is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 6-game winning streak, including last week's 35-7 win against the Twinsburg Tigers. That brings their record to 9-1 as they look to add another notch to the win column. The Knights offense is one of the most high-powered in their division, particularly in recent weeks. For the year, they rank 14th in Division 2 with 37.6 points per game. Over the last 2 weeks, they've scored an average of 37.6. On defense, they rank 52nd in their division, giving up an average of 24.6 points per game.

Prediction: Nordonia to win (95.89% chance of victory)
