Friday's matchup between the Port Clinton Redskins and the Vermilion Sailors takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Redskins and the Sailors are projected to finish 17th and 27th in their respective regional playoff standings. Port Clinton enters the week as a 21-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. For Vermilion, the inferior team on paper, this is a chance to ride the home crowd and prove themselves capable against a solid opponent. However, for Port Clinton, the expectation is a decisive road victory. Having matched up in 2018, there is a degree of familiarity between the two. Last season, the Redskins beat the Sailors 47-10.

Port Clinton will look to rebound this week after their Edison Chargers in their last game. So far this season, they've been lacking statistically on both sides of the ball. In Division 4, they rank 64th on offense, scoring an average of 22 points per game - on defense, they rank 77th, giving up an average of 30.

Vermilion comes into Friday looking to put a halt to their 6-game losing streak and build some momentum moving forward. Last week's loss came at the hands of the Oak Harbor Rockets, who beat the Sailors by a score of 42-0. The Sailors aren't particularly dominant on either side of the ball. On offense, they rank 104th in Division 4 with 5.8 points per game. Their defense, which gives up 38.3 points per game, ranks 94th in their division.

Prediction: Port Clinton to win (98.90% chance of victory)
