As the playoff picture begins to take shape for the John F Kennedy Eagles and the Villa-Angela St. Joseph Vikings, they come up on an important matchup against one another in week 10. The Eagles are confident that how they finish the season will be enough to bring them to the playoffs - they come into the game projected to finish 7th in the Region 25 playoff standings. For the Vikings, chances aren't looking quite as good as they're projected to finish 12th in Region 18. The Vikings will come in as the favorites, projected to win the game 24-17. The Eagles rank 10th in Division 7 while the Vikings rank 40th in Division 5. This looks to be a close and exciting game, which will be fun at least for the team that comes out on top. One of the more familiar matchups of week 10, both teams know what to expect. Villa-Angela St. Joseph will hope to continue the recent trend, in which they've won 3 of the last 5 matchups. In 2018's matchup, the Eagles came away with a 47-8 victory.

John F Kennedy comes into the game on a 2-game winning streak. After last week's 49-6 win against the Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen, they are 6-3 and look to continue the positive momentum. The Eagles offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 42 points per game over their last 2 games, up from their season average of 27.2, which ranks 41st in Division 7. They rank similarly on defense, coming in at 26th in their division, allowing 18.4 points per game. That number has generally gone up in recent weeks as they've given up an average of 9.5 points in their last 2 games.

Villa-Angela St. Joseph will look to continue the momentum of their 2-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 23-14 win against the Gilmour Academy Lancers last week, bringing their record to 6-3. The Vikings offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 33.2 points per game over their last 5 games, up from their season average of 30, which ranks 37th in Division 5. Defensively, giving up 18.9 points per game, they rank 28th in the division.

Prediction: Villa-Angela St. Joseph to win (74.36% chance of victory)
