As the playoff picture begins to take shape for the Hudson Explorers and the Twinsburg Tigers, they come up on an important matchup against one another in week 10. The Explorers are confident that how they finish the season will be enough to bring them to the playoffs - they come into the game projected to finish 5th in the Region 5 playoff standings. For the Tigers, chances aren't looking quite as good as they're projected to finish 21st in Region 5. The Explorers will come in as the favorites, projected to win the game 39-10. The Explorers, one of the better teams statewide, come into the game ranked 71st. On the other hand, the Tigers come in ranked 378th in the state and 70th in Division 2. Hudson will look to go on the road and humiliate the Twinsburg Tigers in their own back yard. The teams have played each other in each of the last five years so neither is likely to surprise the other. Over their last 5 matchups, the Explorers have won 3, a trend they hope to continue. In the most recent season's matchup, the Tigers proved superior, winning 17-14.

Looking to build upon their 4-game winning streak, Hudson comes into the week at 6-3. After their 45-29 win against the Stow Bulldogs, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. The Explorers have boasted one of Division 2's best offenses all season, averaging 38.8 points per game, which ranks 10th. In their last 2 games, they've been even better, scoring 46.5 points per game. Their defense ranks 70th in their division allowing an average of 28.4 points per game, but they have shown improvement in recent weeks - in their last 3 games, they've given up an average of 22 points.

Twinsburg will come into the week looking to put an end to their current 4-game losing streak after a 49-35 loss against the Wadsworth Grizzlies brought their record down to 2-7. While the Tigers haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 2 weeks, they've averaged 29, up from their season average of 14.4, which ranks 91st in Division 2. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 89th in the division, allowing 34 points per game.

Prediction: Hudson to win (99.38% chance of victory)
