As we reach the end of the season, teams that still have reasonable chances are jockeying for playoff positioning. For the home team in this matchup, the Western Reserve Blue Devils, anything but a playoff bid would be a disappointment. They come into the week projected to finish 8th in the Region 21 playoff standings. For the visiting Mineral Ridge Rams, it's a battle to stay in contention. They are currently expected to finish the season 5-5, which would put them around 15th in Region 21. The Blue Devils are the favorites on Friday, projected to win the game by a score of 42-10. The Blue Devils come into the game ranked 20th in Division 6 while the Rams comes in ranked 87th in Division 6. While the Blue Devils look forward to a potentially dominant home victory, the Rams come in looking for the huge upset. One of the more familiar matchups of week 10, both teams know what to expect. Western Reserve will hope to continue the recent trend, in which they've won 5 of the last 5 matchups. In last year's installment, the Blue Devils came out on top by a score of 42-0.

After their 40-28 win against the McKinley Trojans last week, Mineral Ridge is 5-4 and looks to finish the season strong. While the Rams offense has not been particularly great, ranked 67th in Division 6 with 22.4 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 30.5 points over their last 2 contests. Defensively, giving up 23.2 points per game, they rank 48th in the division.

Looking to rebound from a 35-14 loss against the Springfield Tigers last week, Western Reserve will try to establish momentum early and sustain it throughout. Scoring an average of 38.4 points per game on offense, the Blue Devils rank 16th in Division 6. They've been even more dominant in recent weeks, scoring an average of 43.25 over their last 4 games. While recent games have affected averages negatively, their defense is one of the best as well. They rank 8th in their division, giving up an average of 10.1 points per game.

Prediction: Western Reserve to win (99.96% chance of victory)
