Friday's road team, the Springboro Panthers are looking to continue what's looking like a run at the playoffs as they take on the Centerville Elks. The Panthers are already in good shape, projected to finish 3rd in the Region 2 playoff standings. On the other hand, the Elks are projected to finish 12th in Region 2, which would not earn them a playoff berth. Springboro comes into the game as the favorite, projected to come away with a 26-24 victory. The better team on paper, the Panthers come into the game ranked 54th in the state and 17th in Division 1. The Elks come in ranked 218th in the state and 45th in Division 1. As slight road favorites, the Panthers come in hoping to edge out the Elks on their home field. The teams have played each other in each of the last five years so neither is likely to surprise the other. Over their last 5 matchups, the Elks have won 3, a trend they hope to continue. In last year's installment, the Panthers came out on top by a score of 35-0.

Springboro comes into the game on a 2-game winning streak. After last week's 28-25 win against the Trotwood-Madison Rams, they are 8-1 and look to continue the positive momentum. In recent weeks, the Panthers haven't been quite as successful producing points but they remain the 12th-ranked offense in Division 1, scoring an average of 34.4 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 18 points per game over their last 4, down from their average of 13.3, which ranks 11th in their division on the season.

For Centerville, this week is a chance to flip the momentum after 3 consecutive losses. Last week was a 34-20 loss against the Northmont Thunderbolts and they'll look to rebound strong on Friday. Particularly in recent weeks, the Elks offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 3 games, they've put up an average of 22.67 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 27.6, which ranks 29th in Division 1. Defensively, giving up 24.6 points per game, they rank 46th in the division.

Prediction: Springboro to win (93.48% chance of victory)
