In this year's regional finals for the Newark Catholic Green Wave, they are projected to come away with a 29-17 win over the Harvest Prep Warriors. However, it should be one of the more hotly contested matchups of the round and all statistical predictions could easily go out the window. It's do or die for each team as always in the postseason. Regardless of the outcome, each team can take comfort in the fact that they had a successful enough season to get here, but only one team will be satisfied with the result as the other's season will end on a loss. Newark Catholic comes in as Division 7's 14th-ranked team. Harvest Prep comes in ranked 5th. A new matchup on the schedule for each team, Sunday's game is a chance for each to test its skills and strategies against an unfamiliar opponent. Usually, matchups from the previous year are used in developing a strategy for upcoming games. For these two, no such opportunity will be afforded.

Newark Catholic comes into the game on a 4-game winning streak. After last week's 40-0 win against the Shadyside Tigers, they are 9-3 and look to continue the positive momentum. The Green Wave have boasted one of Division 7's best offenses all season, averaging 29.7 points per game, which ranks 24th. In their last 4 games, they've been even better, scoring 37.75 points per game. While their offense is solid, the defense deserves equal credit for the season's successes. Their 16.6 points allowed per game ranks 14th in the division and continues to get better week by week - in their last 2 games, they've given up just 3.5 points per game.

Harvest Prep will look to continue the momentum of their 11-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 35-21 win against the Waterford Wildcats last week, bringing their record to 11-1. The Warriors offense is the 15th-ranked offense in Division 7, scoring an average of 32.2 points per game over the course of the season. In their last 6 games, however, they haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 29.33 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 17.25 points per game over their last 4, down from their average of 11.9, which ranks 4th in their division on the season.

Prediction: Newark Catholic to win (97.75% chance of victory)
