One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the state semifinals comes between the McComb Panthers and the Fort Loramie Redskins, the Panthers projected to win by a score of 31-26. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. The Panthers rank 2nd in the division while the Redskins rank 8th. The teams did not appear on each other's schedules last season, which presents a degree of unpredictability. Usually, matchups from the previous year are used in developing a strategy for upcoming games. For these two, no such opportunity will be afforded.

McComb is currently on a 6-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Sunday. Coming off of a 33-18 win against the Edgerton Bulldogs, they are 12-1 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. The Panthers have been excellent on offense all season, scoring 42.1 points per game, which ranks 25th in the state. In recent weeks, they've cooled off a little, scoring 28.5 points per game in their last 2 games. While their defense has given up more points than usual in recent weeks, they deserve every bit as much of the credit for this season's successes as the offense. Over the course of the season, they've given up an average of 13.3 points per game, which ranks 10th in their division.

Fort Loramie is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 12-game winning streak, including last week's 48-20 win against the Crestview Knights. That brings their record to 12-1 as they look to add another notch to the win column. The Redskins have been extremely impressive on offense all season, scoring 42.9 points per game, which ranks 16th in the state. In recent weeks, they've cooled off a little, scoring 41.33 points per game in their last 3 games. While their defense has given up more points than usual in recent weeks, they deserve every bit as much of the credit for this season's successes as the offense. Over the course of the season, they've given up an average of 11.7 points per game, which ranks 7th in their division.

Prediction: McComb to win (69.68% chance of victory)
