For the Roosevelt Rough Riders, week 2 brings a matchup that will likely come down to the wire against the Marlington Dukes. Coming into the game as a slight 4-point favorite, the Rough Riders will look to prove they are the better team beyond any statistical comparisons. Statistics and rankings aside, this one's completely up in the air and will likely go to whichever team plays at its highest level. Having matched up in 2018, there is a degree of familiarity between the two. Last season, the Dukes beat the Rough Riders 35-7.

The Dukes come into the week projected to finish 9th in the region but it's awfully early and they'll have a chance to improve their postseason odds as they proved themselves capable in 2018. With a projected regular season record of 7-3, each early season win counts on their quest to return to the playoffs. After a season-opening 24-23 loss against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs, they'll look to make improvements on both sides of the ball as the season goes on.

Roosevelt looks to improve after a 2-8 season in 2018. They come into the week with a projected record of 6-4 and a projected finish of 12th in the region. One of the best defensive performances for any Division 2 team in week 1 is something to get excited about - typically, the defenses are more likely to struggle early on in the season. After their season-opening 26-3 win against the Canton South Wildcats, the Rough Riders will look to improve offensively and maintain their defensive dominance as they look to put together a successful start to the 2019 season.

Prediction: Roosevelt to win (63.23% chance of victory)
