Friday's matchup between the Woodward Polar Bears and the Scott Bulldogs takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Polar Bears and the Bulldogs are projected to finish 19th and 26th in their respective regional playoff standings. Scott enters the week as a 6-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. For the Bulldogs, a hard-fought home victory would definitely be a momentum boost. However, the Polar Bears come in expecting to steal one on the road and the momentum along with it. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Polar Bears have been superior, coming out on top in 4 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Polar Bears proved superior, winning 28-20.

While the Polar Bears offense has not been particularly great, ranked 98th in Division 3 with 12.6 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 24.5 points over their last 2 contests. They aren't a top defense in terms of points allowed either, but they have given up less points in recent weeks. While they rank 75th in their division on the season with 26.6 points allowed per game, they've given up an improved average of 0 points over their last 2 games.

Scott will come into the week looking to put an end to their current 8-game losing streak after a 44-0 loss against the Waite Indians brought their record down to 0-8. The Bulldogs have struggled on offense, scoring only 5.75 points per game over their last 4 games. On the year, they rank 92nd in Division 4, scoring an average of 11.6 points per game over the course of the season. They've played at a simiar level on defense, ranking 101st in their division, giving up 44.4 points per game. Over their last 3 games, however, they have made progress, giving up an average of 32.67 points per game.

Prediction: Scott to win (62.00% chance of victory)
