Friday's matchup between the Cloverleaf Colts and the Coventry Comets takes place between two teams that most likely will not make the playoffs. The Colts come into the week projected to finish 10th in the Region 10 playoff standings. The Comets are projected to finish 19th in Region 9. Coventry comes in as a 9-point favorite as each team fights to close out the regular season strong. The Colts come into the game with little regard for pregame statistical breakdowns - while the Comets believe they are the superior team, the road team will not consider it an upset if they come away with the victory. Having matched up in 2018, there is a degree of familiarity between the two. Last season, the Comets beat the Colts 41-35.

Cloverleaf comes into the game on a 3-game winning streak. After last week's 21-14 win against the Norton Panthers, they are 5-4 and look to continue the positive momentum. While the Colts offense has not been particularly great, ranked 38th in Division 3 with 29.4 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 35.67 points over their last 3 contests. On defense, they'll also be looking for improvement, which they have shown signs of in recent weeks. Over their last 3 games, they've allowed an average of 14 points, an improvement over their 78th-ranked season average of 27.6.

Coventry comes into Friday looking to put a halt to their 5-game losing streak and build some momentum moving forward. Last week's loss came at the hands of the Field Falcons, who beat the Comets by a score of 35-6. Particularly in recent weeks, the Comets offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 3 games, they've put up an average of 2 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 16.6, which ranks 87th in Division 3. Defensively, giving up 21.6 points per game, they rank 50th in the division.

Prediction: Coventry to win (60.77% chance of victory)
