Friday's matchup between the Loudonville Redbirds and the Northwest Indians takes place between two teams that most likely will not make the playoffs. The Redbirds come into the week projected to finish 23rd in the Region 22 playoff standings. The Indians are projected to finish 11th in Region 14. Northwest comes in as a 3-point favorite as each team fights to close out the regular season strong. With no definitive indication over who is truly the better team, each side will have to make its case on the field come Friday. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. In 2018, the Redbirds defeated the Indians by a score of 21-18.

Loudonville has dropped each of their most recent 7 games and will look to reverse the negative momentum on Friday. They are currently 1-8 and come off of a 42-15 loss against the CVCA Royals. While the Redbirds haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 3 weeks, they've averaged 25.33, up from their season average of 16.8, which ranks 88th in Division 6. On defense, they rank 76th in the division, giving up 29.7 points per game.

After a 24-6 win against the Fairless Falcons brought their record to 6-3, Northwest will be looking to carry that momentum over and earn another victory. The Indians offense hasn't been particularly great this season in terms of point production, a trend which continues into recent weeks. Over their last 2 games, they've scored an average of 12 points - this season they've averaged 31.1, which ranks 29th in Division 4. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 40th in the division, allowing 20 points per game.

Prediction: Northwest to win (97.42% chance of victory)
