One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the first round comes between the Bellevue Redmen and the Wauseon Indians, the Redmen projected to win by a score of 23-19. The playoffs are an interesting time of year as 7 teams fulfill their most ambitious goal in winning a state championship while the other 217 playoff teams will end their season with a loss. This matchup is no different as the winner will continue their playoff run while the loser will end its 2019 season with a loss. Bellevue comes in as Division 4's 23rd-ranked team. Wauseon comes in ranked 25th. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Usually, matchups from the previous year are used in developing a strategy for upcoming games. For these two, no such opportunity will be afforded.

Bellevue comes off of a 28-20 loss against the Clyde Fliers and will look to rebound this week as they hope to finish out the season strong. Particularly in recent weeks, the Redmen offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 3 games, they've put up an average of 23 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 30.6, which ranks 35th in Division 4. Defensively, giving up 17.7 points per game, they rank 28th in the division.

Wauseon looks to rebound after a 38-0 loss against the Archbold Blue Streaks last week, which brought their record to 8-2. While the Indians offense has not been particularly great, ranked 47th in Division 4 with 26.5 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 30.4 points over their last 5 contests. The defense hasn't been much better statistically, giving up an average of 16.8 points per game, which ranks 23rd in their division.

Prediction: Bellevue to win (70.14% chance of victory)
