For the Solon Comets and the Shaker Heights Raiders, playoff chances are looking grim. A win in Saturday's game will likely be the first requirement in either team earning a postseason bid. The Comets come into the game with a 44.73% chance of making the playoffs while the Raiders come in with a 14.95% chance. Solon comes into the game as a 13-point favorite and will look to increase those playoff chances with a win. The Comets, one of the better teams statewide, come into the game ranked 31st. On the other hand, the Raiders come in ranked 149th in the state and 55th in Division 1. Shaker Heights will be tested at home against a formidable Solon team. While the road team is expected to get the victory, overcoming homefield advantage could be a major challenge for Saturday's favorite. There is a certain degree of familiarity between the two teams after they faced off last season. Last season, the Comets beat the Raiders 43 - 6.

Solon has dropped each of their most recent 2 games and will look to reverse the negative momentum on Saturday. They are currently 5-4 and come off of a 38 - 34 loss against the Mentor Cardinals. While the Comets haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 2 weeks, they've averaged 31, up from their season average of 25.8, which ranks 42nd in Division 1. The defense hasn't been much better statistically, giving up an average of 19.6 points per game, which ranks 24th in their division.

Shaker Heights will come into the week looking to put an end to their current 4-game losing streak after a 39 - 35 loss against the Strongsville Mustangs brought their record down to 4-5. The Raiders offense is the 23rd-ranked offense in Division 1, scoring an average of 31.6 points per game over the course of the season. In their last 4 games, however, they haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 28 points per game. Their defense allows an average of 25.5 points per game, which ranks 47th in their division.

Prediction: Solon to win (88.30% chance of victory)
