Friday's matchup between the Sidney Yellow Jackets and the Greenville Green Wave takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Yellow Jackets and the Green Wave are projected to finish 20th and 10th in their respective regional playoff standings. Greenville enters the week as a 3-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. In one that could easily go either way, they'll each take the field with something to prove. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Yellow Jackets have been superior, coming out on top in 3 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In 2018's matchup, the Yellow Jackets came away with a 56-21 victory.

Sidney comes off of a 23-21 loss against the Stebbins Indians and will look to rebound this week as they hope to finish out the season strong. The Yellow Jackets offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 35 points per game over their last 2 games, up from their season average of 18.2, which ranks 77th in Division 2. On defense, they'll also be looking for improvement, which they have shown signs of in recent weeks. Over their last 7 games, they've allowed an average of 19 points, an improvement over their 38th-ranked season average of 22.2.

Greenville will be looking to put together a win streak coming off of a 17-13 win over the Butler Aviators last week, which brings their record to 6-3. The Green Wave offense hasn't been particularly great this season in terms of point production, a trend which continues into recent weeks. Over their last 3 games, they've scored an average of 10.33 points - this season they've averaged 15.3, which ranks 91st in Division 3. They've played at a simiar level on defense, ranking 34th in their division, giving up 17.2 points per game. Over their last 4 games, however, they have made progress, giving up an average of 10.25 points per game.

Prediction: Greenville to win (84.81% chance of victory)
