Week 10 brings about a big game for both the Madison Mohawks and the Waynesville Spartans as it could ultimately decide the postseason fate of either one. The Spartans can currently expect to finish the season 3rd at 9-1. For the Mohawks, postseason chances aren't quite as high as they are projected to finish 12th in Region 20. The Spartans are the favorites on Friday, projected to win the game by a score of 31-26. Madison comes in as Division 5's 21st-ranked team. Waynesville comes in ranked 34th in Division 4. For the Spartans, a hard-fought home victory would definitely be a momentum boost. However, the Mohawks come in expecting to steal one on the road and the momentum along with it. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Mohawks have been superior, coming out on top in 5 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Mohawks proved superior, winning 64-0.

Madison will look to rebound this week after their Monroe Hornets in their last game. The Mohawks offense will look to continue to improve as they've scored an average of 34 points per game over their last 4 games, up from their season average of 28.8, which ranks 45th in Division 5. They aren't a top defense in terms of points allowed either, but they have given up less points in recent weeks. While they rank 54th in their division on the season with 23.6 points allowed per game, they've given up an improved average of 19.25 points over their last 4 games.

For Waynesville, Friday is a chance to expand on a 7-game winning streak after their 23-8 win against the Northridge Polar Bears brought their record to 8-1. The Spartans offense is one of the most high-powered in their division, particularly in recent weeks. For the year, they rank 11th in Division 4 with 36.7 points per game. Over the last 3 weeks, they've scored an average of 36.7. Nevertheless, the defense could actually be the true strength of the team, which they've shown in their most recent contests. Over the last 2 games, they've allowed only 11 points per game. However, success on defense isn't just a recent trend - on the season, their defense ranks 17th in their division, allowing 15.6 points per game.

Prediction: Waynesville to win (53.27% chance of victory)
