The Belpre Golden Eagles come into Friday projected to finish the season 6-4 at 12th in Region 21. They host the Waterford Wildcats, who are currently expected to make the playoffs at 6th in Region 27. Belpre have the edge on paper, entering the game as a 8-point favorite. However, the battle for a postseason bid can only be decided on the field. The Wildcats rank 19th in Division 7 while the Golden Eagles rank 56th in Division 6. Waterford looks to silence the crowd early as Belpre comes into the game expecting a relatively decisive victory. While a lot of factors point to a home victory, it will still require a valiant effort from the Golden Eagles to come away with the win. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Wildcats have been superior, coming out on top in 3 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Wildcats proved superior, winning 24-17.

Waterford is currently on a 3-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Friday. Coming off of a 1-0 win against the Federal Hocking Lancers, they are 7-2 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. The Wildcats have struggled on offense, scoring only 17.75 points per game over their last 4 games. On the year, they rank 49th in Division 7, scoring an average of 24.6 points per game over the course of the season. On defense, they're not much better statistically. They rank 22nd in their division, allowing 17.1 points per game. However, they have improved as the season's gone on, giving up an average of 6 points over their last 2.

For Belpre, this week is a chance to flip the momentum after 2 consecutive losses. Last week was a 39-14 loss against the Eastern Eagles and they'll look to rebound strong on Friday. Particularly in recent weeks, the Golden Eagles offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 2 games, they've put up an average of 10.5 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 28.2, which ranks 38th in Division 6. Defensively, giving up 25.2 points per game, they rank 58th in the division.

Prediction: Belpre to win (74.30% chance of victory)
