Anything can happen in the playoffs. This is why the Valley View Spartans come into the regional finals expecting a victory over the Wyoming Cowboys, despite the fact the Cowboys are projected to win the game by a score of 32-18. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. The Spartans, one of the top teams in Division 4, come into the game ranked 12th. The Cowboys come in ranked 1st. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Usually, matchups from the previous year are used in developing a strategy for upcoming games. For these two, no such opportunity will be afforded.

Valley View is currently on a 5-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Sunday. Coming off of a 28-27 win against the Roger Bacon Spartans, they are 10-2 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. In recent weeks, the Spartans haven't been quite as successful producing points but they remain the 18th-ranked offense in Division 4, scoring an average of 33.7 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 27.5 points per game over their last 2, down from their average of 17.3, which ranks 21st in their division on the season.

For Wyoming, Sunday is a chance to expand on a 12-game winning streak after their 27-7 win against the Indian Hill Braves brought their record to 12-0. The Cowboys rank 10th in Division 4 on offense, scoring an average of 35.7. However, over the last 3 weeks, their average is down to 32.33 points per game. While their defense has given up more points than usual in recent weeks, they deserve every bit as much of the credit for this season's successes as the offense. Over the course of the season, they've given up an average of 6.1 points per game, which ranks 1st in their division.

Prediction: Wyoming to win (99.96% chance of victory)
