Friday's matchup between the Medina Bees and the Elyria Pioneers features two teams fighting to stay in playoff contention. While the Bees head into this week with a 7.71% chance of making the playoffs, the Pioneers come in with an equally concerning 9.76% chance. The Pioneers, 6-point favorites, hope to prove they're the superior team and keep their postseason fight alive. Statistics and rankings aside, this one's completely up in the air and will likely go to whichever team plays at its highest level. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. Last year, the Bees got the better of the Pioneers, winning by a score of 52 - 14.

Medina looks to get back on track this week as they come in on a 2-game losing streak. They are currently 2-5 after a 21 - 7 loss against the Strongsville Mustangs last week. While the Bees offense has not been particularly great, ranked 67th in Division 1 with 14.4 points per game, they have improved in recent weeks, averaging 19 points over their last 3 contests. On the opposite side of the ball, they rank 61st in the division, allowing 31.3 points per game.

Looking to rebound from a 38 - 23 loss against the Brunswick Blue Devils last week, Elyria will try to establish momentum early and sustain it throughout. While the Pioneers haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 1 weeks, they've averaged 27.33, up from their season average of 20.4, which ranks 56th in Division 1. Defensively, giving up 35.1 points per game, they rank 69th in the division.

Prediction: Elyria to win (59.36% chance of victory)
