The postseason is in full force and the Archbishop Alter Knights enter their regional final matchup against the Wapakoneta Redskins projected to win by a score of 28-18. The playoffs are an interesting time of year as 7 teams fulfill their most ambitious goal in winning a state championship while the other 217 playoff teams will end their season with a loss. This matchup is no different as the winner will continue their playoff run while the loser will end its 2018 season with a loss. The Redskins, one of the top teams in Division 3, come into the game ranked 6th. The Knights come in ranked 2nd. The teams did not appear on each other's schedules last season, which presents a degree of unpredictability. Stylistically and schematically, past matchups are often used as a guiding tool. This week, however, each team will likely take time to adjust to an unfamiliar opponent, which should make for some added excitement.

Looking to build upon their 8-game winning streak, Wapakoneta comes into the week at 11-1. After their 27-17 win against the Bishop Fenwick Falcons, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. In recent weeks, the Redskins haven't been quite as successful producing points but they remain the 17th-ranked offense in Division 3, scoring an average of 32.7 points per game. On defense, their last few weeks haven't even done justice to how good they've been all season. They've given up 20.67 points per game over their last 3, down from their average of 11.2, which ranks 5th in their division on the season.

Archbishop Alter is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 11-game winning streak, including last week's 13-0 win against the Badin Rams. That brings their record to 11-1 as they look to add another notch to the win column. The Knights offense is the 18th-ranked offense in Division 3, scoring an average of 32.6 points per game over the course of the season. In their last 2 games, however, they haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 13.5 points per game. While their offense is solid, the defense deserves equal credit for the season's successes. Their 7.3 points allowed per game ranks 1st in the division and continues to get better week by week - in their last 4 games, they've given up just 3.75 points per game.

Prediction: Archbishop Alter to win (97.62% chance of victory)
