One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the state semifinals comes between the Hoban Knights and the Avon Eagles, the Knights projected to win by a score of 33-28. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. The Eagles rank 3rd in the division while the Knights rank 1st. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. In 2017, the Knights defeated the Eagles by a score of 30-6.

Looking to build upon their 10-game winning streak, Avon comes into the week at 12-1. After their 37-22 win against the Central Catholic Fighting Irish, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. On offense, the Eagles have been one of the best in the state this season, ranking 5th with 45.8 points per game. Recent weeks haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 36 points per game but they remain one of the most explosive offenses statewide. On defense, they rank 30th in their division, giving up an average of 19.7 points per game.

Hoban will look to continue the momentum of their 13-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 52-6 win against the Maple Heights Mustangs last week, bringing their record to 13-0. On offense, the Knights have been one of the best in the state this season, ranking 11th with 44.8 points per game. Recent weeks haven't been quite as explosive as they've averaged 43.25 points per game but they remain one of the most explosive offenses statewide. Their defense has been equally impressive, particularly in recent weeks. Over their last 4 games, they've allowed just 3.25 points per game - that's even better than the shutdown defense they've played all season. On the year, they rank 20th in the state on defense, allowing an average of 3.25 points.

Prediction: Hoban to win (98.88% chance of victory)
