The Solon Comets and the Stow Bulldogs head into a week 3 matchup on Friday looking for what will likely be a hardfought victory. While the Comets come in as 8-point favorites, the Bulldogs will look to prove that they are the truly superior team. The Comets head into Friday ranked 25th in the state and will travel to take on a fellow top-100 team as the Bulldogs come in ranked 71st. This is an unpredictable matchup as the Comets, projected favoritees, will have to defeat the Bulldogs on their home field. Not only is it unpredictable from a standpoint of who will come out on top, but also whether it'll be a close game or a decisive victory for one of these teams. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. In 2018, the Comets defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 28-14.

While it's early in the season, Solon is essentially a lock to make the postseason. Projected to finish the season 9-1 a year after reaching the Regional Quarterfinals. The Comets come into the game projected as the region's 2nd best team so it's really only a matter of time before they get another chance to chase a state title. They're a high-powered offense, scoring an average of 46 points per game, ranking 3rd in Division 1. Their defense gives up an average of 23.5 points per game, which ranks 43rd in the division.

After missing out on postseason play in 2018, Stow has a solid chance at making it in 2019. Coming off of a 34-21 win against the Barberton Magics, their record is 2-0 and they are projected to finish 6th in the region. The Bulldogs defense ranks 23rd in Division 1, giving up 17 points per game. On offense, they score an average of 27.5 points per game, which ranks 30th in their division.

Prediction: Solon to win (73.38% chance of victory)
