In a week 10 matchup with major playoff implications, the Springfield Tigers go on the road to face off against the McDonald Blue Devils. The Tigers enter the game projected to finish 1st in Region 21 at 10-0. The Blue Devils come in projected to finish 6th in Region 25 at 6-4 The Tigers come into the game as 7-point favorites and expect to take home the victory and ultimately complete their pursuit of the postseason. McDonald enters the game as the 13th-ranked team in Division 7, which makes this a key matchup in the division as Springfield comes in ranked 9th. With two teams coming in expecting the win, we won't know for sure who's the better team until they take the field on Friday. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Blue Devils have been superior, coming out on top in 4 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Blue Devils proved superior, winning 20-17.

Looking to build upon their 9-game winning streak, Springfield comes into the week at 9-0. After their 35-14 win against the Western Reserve Blue Devils, they are confident in their ability to finish strong. The Tigers score an average of 44.4 points per game, which ranks 21st in the state offensively. In recent weeks, they've been even more proficient, scoring an average of 48.83 points per game over their last 6 games. On defense, they've been just as strong. Allowing just 10.1 points per game over the course of the season, their defense ranks 8th in their division. Over the last 7 weeks, they've been even more proficient, giving up just 6.14 points per game.

McDonald is no stranger to winning recently as they come off of a 4-game winning streak, including last week's 48-12 win against the Lowellville Rockets. That brings their record to 6-3 as they look to add another notch to the win column. The Blue Devils are undeniably one of Division 7's best offenses, averaging 31.6 points per game, which ranks 19th. In their last 4 games, they've been even better, scoring 44.75 points per game. Their defense ranks 38th in their division allowing an average of 21.8 points per game, but they have shown improvement in recent weeks - in their last 2 games, they've given up an average of 10 points.
