As we reach the end of the season, teams that still have reasonable chances are jockeying for playoff positioning. For the home team in this matchup, the Aurora Greenmen, anything but a playoff bid would be a disappointment. They come into the week projected to finish 4th in the Region 9 playoff standings. For the visiting Copley Indians, it's a battle to stay in contention. They are currently expected to finish the season 2-8, which would put them around 22nd in Region 10. The Greenmen are the favorites on Friday, projected to win the game by a score of 29-12. Better on paper, the Greenmen come into the game ranked 28th in the state, hosting a Indians team that comes in ranked 352nd in the state and 69th in Division 3. The Greenmen, the better team on paper, will look to prove their superiority on the field come Friday. A rematch from their game last season, this matchup will be a good gauge on how each team has improved or regressed. In 2018, the Greenmen defeated the Indians by a score of 38-14.

Last week, Copley dropped a game 41-7 against the Highland Hornets. They'll look to get in the win column this week as they hope to finish out the season on a positive note. The Indians offense hasn't been particularly great this season in terms of point production, a trend which continues into recent weeks. Over their last 5 games, they've scored an average of 12.2 points - this season they've averaged 18, which ranks 82nd in Division 3. They rank similarly on defense, coming in at 74th in their division, allowing 26.7 points per game. That number has generally gone up in recent weeks as they've given up an average of 22.67 points in their last 3 games.

Aurora will look to continue the momentum of their 9-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 48-7 win against the Revere Minutemen last week, bringing their record to 9-0. While the Greenmen haven't been the most high-powered offense throughout the season, they have been improving week to week. In the last 5 weeks, they've averaged 41.2, up from their season average of 32.4, which ranks 27th in Division 3. Defensively, they haven't been the strongest either in terms of points allowed. They give up 5.2 points per game, ranking 1st in their division.

Prediction: Aurora to win (99.97% chance of victory)
