The Lakota West Firebirds come into Friday with a 24.30% chance of making the postseason. They host the Lakota East Thunderhawks, who currently have a 55.63% chance at the playoffs. While the Firebirds has a chance to increase their chances to 30.64%, the Thunderhawks can increase theirs to 77.49%. Lakota West have the edge on paper, entering the game as a 1-point favorite. However, the battle for a postseason bid can only be decided on the field. Lakota West, the 79th-ranked team in the state, host a fellow top-100 team this week as Lakota East comes into the game ranked 65th. With no true consensus over who's the better team, they'll have to sort all that out on the field. One of the more familiar matchups of week 6, both teams know what to expect. Lakota West will hope to continue the recent trend, in which they've won 4 of the last 5 matchups. In last year's installment, the Thunderhawks came out on top by a score of 21 - 14.

After their 42 - 28 win against the Oak Hills Highlanders last week, Lakota East is 4-1 and looks to finish the season strong. So far this season, they've been lacking statistically on both sides of the ball. In Division 1, they rank 37th on offense, scoring an average of 27.6 points per game - on defense, they rank 49th, giving up an average of 26.2.

Coming off of a 31 - 0 loss against the Mason Comets, Lakota West, hopes to build some momentum and rebound strongly with a win. The Firebirds have struggled thus far on each side of the ball. Scoring 12.4 points per game, they rank 68th in Division 1. Defensively, giving up 25.6 points per game, ranks 47th in the division.

Prediction: Lakota West to win (52.98% chance of victory)
