The first round matchup between the Mogadore Wildcats and the Columbia Raiders should be one of the more exciting matchups of the week. The Wildcats come into the week projected to win by a score of 31-19. The playoffs are an interesting time of year as 7 teams fulfill their most ambitious goal in winning a state championship while the other 217 playoff teams will end their season with a loss. This matchup is no different as the winner will continue their playoff run while the loser will end its 2018 season with a loss. Columbia comes in as Division 6's 22nd-ranked team. Mogadore comes in ranked 4th. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Strategically, this might lead to complications that could throw off the gameplan of either team.

Columbia comes into the game on a 3-game winning streak. After last week's 48-0 win against the Oberlin Phoenix, they are 7-3 and look to continue the positive momentum. Scoring an average of 36.9 points per game on offense, the Raiders rank 15th in Division 6. They've been even more explosive in recent weeks, scoring an average of 48.67 over their last 3 games. On defense, they've been just as strong. Allowing just 15.6 points per game over the course of the season, their defense ranks 25th in their division. Over the last 3 weeks, they've been even more proficient, giving up just 4.67 points per game.

Mogadore will look to continue the momentum of their 7-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 28-18 win against the Rootstown Rovers last week, bringing their record to 9-1. The Wildcats offense is one of the most high-powered in their division, particularly in recent weeks. For the year, they rank 14th in Division 6 with 37.6 points per game. Over the last 4 weeks, they've scored an average of 37.6. Their defense ranks 53rd in their division allowing an average of 23.1 points per game, but they have shown improvement in recent weeks - in their last 2 games, they've given up an average of 13 points.

Prediction: Mogadore to win (99.67% chance of victory)
