Friday's matchup between the Dalton Bulldogs and the Smithville Smithies takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Bulldogs and the Smithies are projected to finish 10th and 22nd in their respective regional playoff standings. Dalton enters the week as a 3-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. The Bulldogs, one of the top teams in Division 6, come into the game ranked 24th. The Smithies, on the other hand, come in ranked 69th in Division 6. As slight road favorites, the Bulldogs come in hoping to edge out the Smithies on their home field. One of the more familiar matchups of week 7, both teams know what to expect. Smithville will hope to continue the recent trend, in which they've won 3 of the last 5 matchups. In last year's installment, the Bulldogs came out on top by a score of 21-0.

Dalton is currently on a 3-game winning streak, which they hope to continue on Friday. Coming off of a 62-56 win against the Waynedale Golden Bears, they are 5-1 and their confidence continues to build as they finish up the year. They're a high-powered offense, scoring an average of 42.7 points per game, ranking 5th in Division 6. Their defense gives up an average of 24.3 points per game, which ranks 58th in the division.

Smithville tallied up a 39-7 win against the Chippewa Chipps last week, bringing their record to 2-4 - they'll look to add to the win column once again on Friday. Neither side of the ball has been particularly strong for the Smithies. Their offense scores an average of 23.2 points per game and their defense allows an average of 27.5 points per game, ranking 59th and 68th in Division 6 respectively.

Prediction: Dalton to win (94.18% chance of victory)
